This holiday season, what better way to give back than by donating money, time or resources to health-related organizations? We put together a list of groups that assist people with many of the conditions we cover here at HealthWatchMD. While this is definitely not a conclusive list – there are many more great groups out there – we hope it helps you get started. Check back tomorrow for our Sunday poll and let us know if you are planning to give back this season.
- The American Heart Association and American Stroke Association – two organizations dedicated to building healthier lives free of stroke and cardiovascular disease.
- American Diabetes Association – dedicated to the prevention and cure of diabetes as well as improving the lives of those who are affected by the disease.
- Stand Up To Cancer – this organization’s mission is to accelerate groundbreaking cancer research through collaboration in the cancer community.
- COPD Foundation – the foundation works to advance innovations that make treatments effective and affordable, educate the public, prevent the disease in the first place and find a cure.
When giving to any organization, be sure to do some research to learn how they allocate their funds. To learn more about any of these conditions, visit HealthWatchMD’s directory for a full collection of related stories.
