As many of our readers know, we are a young organization that is growing and seeking to form a paradigm-shifting coalition of donors that will help bring about a cure for type 1 diabetes within our lifetime – we are targeting 2025.
Our aim is to be an entirely independent analyst that will develop a deep understanding of the operations of the major charities and the methods and prospects of achieving a cure. Our reports will focus on organizations and analyze how they are spending the money they are receiving in the form of donations for a type 1 cure – and we will update our readers with important information that will help them determine where the best opportunities lie.
When donating to a charity, it is extremely important that the community is informed on the practices of each organization. We will not progress very far under the current model, with foundations taking in money for a cure, and using only a small portion of it in the research labs.
We understand and fully support people joining the large fundraiser movements and giving their money towards a cure – but together we must change things if we are to ensure that all these efforts are not in vain.
As the only non-profit organization out there that is focused exclusively on a type 1 diabetes cure, the JDCA needs your support in order to grow, so that our common hopes and goals can be met. We do not accept or handle donations of any kind – but simply joining our free membership list will equip us with the tools needed to go forward. We fully believe that it is the united voice of the diabetes community that can force positive changes.
