To me, this doesn’t read particularly as anything special. In fact, it’s more or less what Judy and I did with my condition from August to November 2010. I used basal insulin to keep my fasting value acceptable and by early November I was able to stop using it. Although no-one in the French medical system felt it might be helpful to tell me, I do think that my initial situation was largely insulin resistance.
In parallel my “oral medication” was to cut my carbohydrate intake to around 75 grams and we’ve maintained it around that level ever since.
So, I’m in remission
and we found the cure two years before this lot
.
Big deal! I still need to handle my condition and stories like this merely send a message to our more naive brethren that they can relax but with very few exceptions – they can’t!
In the fullness of time, it may become necessary for me to re-introduce medication. I hope to defer that time for a year or two (perhaps 50) but until that date, I’ll carry on checking!
John
