The JDCA team is very proud to present our latest video which is focused on our mission to call for donor action so that we can see some real progress made towards achieving a Practical Cure for type 1 diabetes.
Thousands of people each year rally to fight for a cure for this disease – they generously support the non profit diabetes foundations with hundreds of millions of dollars a year, and trust that their time and resources will go into the best possible avenues for finding a cure for type 1.
The reality, unfortunately, is rather different. In the past four years, cure spending has actually decreased almost $61 million from the top 4 major charity organizations. What is more, as of February 2012, there are only 5 projects targeting a Practical Cure for diabetes in Human Clinical Trials.
We can all make a difference and reverse this negative trend, however. It is time that we take real donor action and attach the JDCA Donor Action letter with your donation to let the non-profits know that you want it to be used specifically for research working toward a Practical Cure.
We fully believe that when we join efforts and act together, we can make a big difference, and we will see a cure for type 1 diabetes within our lifetime.
