Every day a multitude of stars wander through the halls of MTV News to talk about their latest projects and goof around with our intrepid correspondents. But sometimes we catch stars elsewhere, and that’s why we put together Spotted!, a daily compendium of stars in the wild.
Nick Jonas is best known as one third of the Jonas Brothers and as the frontman of Nick Jonas and the Administration, but he also has a number of philanthropic interests. Nick is a diabetic, and he has worked overtime to raise both money and awareness for diabetes-related research and treatment (especially in children). On Sunday (March 13), the 18-year-old pop star was a guest speaker at the 6th Annual Carnival for a Cure at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York City. Jonas talked about his struggle with the disease and met with kids who also suffer from it. He was also given a plaque from the Diabetes Research Institute commemorating his hard work towards working for a cure.
He wasn’t the only star among the people, as Taylor Momsen ripped through another killer set with her band the Pretty Reckless in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Elton John was seen outside his hotel in New York (he is in town for this weekend’s episode of “Saturday Night Live,” where he’ll serve as both the host and the musical guest).
