Question by tammiec41: Why aren’t they trying to find a cure in Juvenile Diabetes? Does anyone really know the answer to this?
They say there trying to find a cure, and you hear about a possible cure every now and then on the news. But what is the real answer on why they haven’t found a cure. Is it because to much money that is spent on drugs, and doctor visits, etc is circulating around and this would hurt the economy even more if there was a cure. Juvenile Diabetes is a painful disease that is left to much in silence. Just why haven’t they found a cure?

There have been attempts, though generally speaking current methods have been down the route of pumps, which aren’t actually resolving anything, just means you don’t have to inject yourself as much times as you would usually. Being diabetic type 1 since i was 9 ( 8 years), they said back then that they may be a cure as soon as 5 years, of course like i was i took their word for it Thing is, half the time its genetic based, so improvements in DNA knowledge and stem cell research etc are required to help any steps forward for a cure to diabetes.
Though, being honest its not all that bad, granted its 4 injections per day (or depending what scheme your on), but i just forget its there sometimes and control it naturally to give myself that free spirit style.
