HAMDEN, Conn.
– The Quinnipiac women’s lacrosse
team has joined efforts with Diagnostic Radiation Institute of Kansas City in
the fight against juvenile diabetes with its involvement in the Goal For The
Cure program. As part of Quinnipiac’s Positive Play program, the Bobcats will
raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).

“The team is really excited to be able
to join with Diagnostic Radiation Institute to help fund the great work that
JDRF is doing,” head coach Danie Caro said. “Freshman Meredith
Donaldson and her family proposed the partnership, and it’s been a win-win for
everyone. We’re just happy to be part of the campaign and we’ll try to keep
scoring to benefit the Goal For The Cure as the season continues.”

The Diagnostic Radiation Institute of Kansas City has
agreed to pledge a certain amount to JDRF based on the team’s final goal total
at season’s end. Each member of the Quinnipiac women’s lacrosse team has pledged
to give either a flat fee donation or a donation based on individual goals
scored. The athletes hope to find two additional donors per person to further
help the cause.

Quinnipiac, which is coming off a 14-5 victory over Northeast
Conference opponent Sacred Heart on Friday, Apr. 1, returns to action on
Sunday, Apr. 3 when it faces Denver at 11 a.m.
