Diabetes: Symptoms and Cure

Diabetes can be defined as a set of metabolic syndrome in which a person has a towering blood sugar, caused because of two main reasons i. e. either the body does not fabricate sufficient insulin or for the reason that the body cells do not respond to the insulin being formed in the body. Diabetes can further be classified in to three i. e. Type 1 diabetes in which the body fails to produce the required insulin and is treated by injecting required amount of insulin into the body of the person, type 2 diabetes is one in which body cells fail to accept the insulin being built in the body, and Gestational diabetes is mostly seen in pregnant women caused due the increased blood glucose level.

Type 1 diabetes is the most common form of diabetes diagnosed in around 5 to 10% people of North America. This type of diabetes as per the doctors is hereditary and the people whose fathers or fore fathers had the disease are at a greater risk of diabetes. The main cause of diabetes is insulin, if body fails to produce appropriate amount of insulin or produces it but the cells fail to accept, such a behavior of the body results in diabetes as insulin is the main element that allows glucose to depart the blood and enter body cells.

The main symptoms of the disease include frequent urination medically known as polyuria, increased thirst and hunger, distorted image, decrease in ability to remember, slow healing of any injury or cut, speedy heartbeat.

Type 1 diabetes can affect the kidneys which can also lead to kidney failure. Doctors advice persons suffering with diabetes to get regular checkups so as to ensure that their blood sugar amount is appropriate and is not harming the functioning of other body organs. The only precaution to Type 1 diabetes is controlled level of blood sugar and intake of insulin.
