In an effort to become help inform and educate donors, we have added a new page onto our website, Diabetes Resources.
We believe that understanding the type 1 diabetes landscape and design of the diabetes charitable organizations is an integral first step to making an informed decision about where to direct your time and money. Donors should be familiar with cure research and progress in order to make their intentions and voice heard.
We have included links to the four major diabetes foundations we cover – the American Diabetes Association, the Diabetes Research Foundation Institute, the JDRF and Joslin Diabetes Center. Our reports are usually focused on how these non-profits in particular handle the fundraiser money they receive, because we believe that they have the talent and the resources to work toward a Practical Cure for type 1 diabetes. It is very important that our readers become familiar with what these organizations promise to work toward, and then compare it to the various progress reports we publish.
We are also beginning to build up our Diabetes General Resources section with diabetes organizations and information that we believe will play an important role in affirming unity and awareness within the diabetes community. We must be informed in order to stand together as we continue advocating for a type 1 diabetes cure. To recommend a website or organization please email us at info@thejdca.org.
To all the donors and diabetes advocates- you have the power to influence strategy and it is up to all of us to let our intentions be heard.
