My story
I went to work on Monday morning and sat down at my computer. I put on my reading glasses to view the monitor and the screen was totally fuzzy. I took the reading glasses off and the screen was perfectly clear. I could read everything no problem. This was weird because I had been using reading glasses at work for about two years. In my prior profession I was a esthetician and I did not need glasses to see the finest baby hairs or to perform facial procedures like microdermabrasion and extractions. I just started using reading glasses in a 1 or 1.5 for the past two years but now my eyesight was totally clear up close and I could see my computer and my iphone perfectly without glasses. Something was wrong but I did not know what.
The next day at work we had a emergency evacuation because of a tornado and when I went into the hallway everybody was blurry, and I had to go to the bathroom every 30 minutes, when I walked in the double doors from the bathroom I could feel my kidney filling up my bladder again. This scared me because my friend Ronnie just passed away from Diabetes and he was going in for dialysis when he died. That evening when I went home I asked my mother and my father if I could used one of their diabetes meters to test my blood sugar because I felt something was wrong.
My blood sugar was 484!
This meant nothing to me, but my parents were very worried, they advised me to go lay down and rest so I did.
The next morning it was still 334, so I went to a urgent care center and there my blood sugar was 297
I was told that I have diabetes and given three medications, I was not happy about that. I went from being on no medications for my health to three all at once. Two for diabetes and one for blood pressure.
I went to the worst place to go if you feel sick I went to Wal-Mart to have my prescriptions filled and it took about three hours. I thought when I took the pills it would make my blood sugar go back to normal but it did not. So I pulled out my iphone and downloaded every diabetes app that I could find to figure out how to get my blood sugar back to normal. The doctor though since both my parents are diabetics that they knew how to eat to control it so she did not give me any information. But my iphone did I found the best diabetic app called dlife and it answered all of my question and has a log book so I can enter all of by blood test reading and it charts them all into easy to read graphs.

I decided to eat low carbohydrate to control my blood sugar and in four days it went from 484 to 79. When I went back to the doctor on Monday evening when she tested my blood sugar it was 79. That morning when I woke up my fasting blood sugar was 210 and I dropped it by eating low carb all day. I have been consistently testing my blood sugar and eating high protein and low carb. I added a fruit smoothie for breakfast with two scoops of protein and this works like a charm in the morning. The first few days I was eating one boiled egg, but I got tired of that fast.
The hardest part was lowering my fasting blood sugar in the morning after sleeping at night they went something like this, 297, 210, 170/ 160/ 150/130/ 125/ 152/ 126/ 112/ 108/ 97. Any lower and the low blood sugar will wake me up and affect my sleeping which has not been affected yet.
I also like to eat from the 2 for 20meal deals at the local restaurants, Applebees, Chilis, and Ocharleys.
