The Northern California Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation will hold its 15th annual gala, “Cultivating a Cure,” on Saturday, April 16, in Sacramento.

The group raises funds to find a cure for type 1 diabetes and its complications. Co-chair Steve Park notes, “Today over 250 million people in the world have type 1.”

The gala, emceed by Rob Stewart of KVIE’s “Rob on the Road,” will honor Kirk Doyle of Surewest Communications for his fundraising efforts. Live and silent auctions will include spa packages, wine country private tastings, numerous fine wines, original art, Hawaii and European vacations, golfing trips and other items.
