DAYTON, OH (WDTN-WBDT) – WALK TO CURE DIABETES is the fastest growing fundraising event in the history of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

The 2010 Walk to Cure Diabetes in the Greater Dayton Area raised over $345,000 with 2,500 walkers and volunteers representing more than 120 corporate and family teams.

Funds are raised as walkers ask friends, relatives and co-workers to sponsor them for participating in the 5 kilometer walkathon. The money raised will fund diabetes research and education about research.

The 2011 Walk to Cure Diabetes Dayton Walk is Saturday September 24, from Island MetroPark and October 2, from Heritage Park, Lima.
