Motorists in western Broward should be aware that hundreds of bicyclists will be traveling the streets Sunday as part of the Southeast Florida Tour de Cure.
Tour de Cure is a series of fundraising cycling events held nationwide to benefit the American Diabetes Association. It’s not a race but rather a ride with routes designed for everyone from occasional riders to experienced cyclists.
Deputies from the Broward Sheriff’s Office Regional Traffic Enforcement Unit will assist in traffic control for the tour’s three scheduled events which include a 35, 62 and 100-mile route that all start and finish at C.B. Smith Park.
Groups of bike riders will be on the roads between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m.
The 35-mile route runs south of I-595 and west of Flamingo Road, the 52-mile course runs from Miramar Parkway to McNab road and the 100-mile ride runs from Miramar to Parkland, the report said.
