Kids walk to cure diabetes

Northborough – (l to r) Fifth-graders Hailey Lowe, Mia McAuliffe and Zoe Foster take part in the third annual Kids Walk to Cure Diabetes, held Oct. 28 at Peaslee Elementary School. Students in kindergarten through fifth grade collected pledges to walk an hour on school grounds, and they raised over $5,400 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. The first two years, their walk raised the highest amount among schools in the region. The fund-raiser is organized by school nurse Lorrie Perkins, RN, MSN.
