Following news on our last report on current clinical trials, about how much money donated for a type 1 cure is not being used for a cure, it is clear now more than ever that we need to take action and make an impact in order to ensure that we find a cure within out lifetime.

Some are still saying that is not going to happen, but as we reported, even now we still have five trials that are in the clinical stage and have the potential of delivering a Practical Cure before 2025.

As we at the Juvenile Diabetes Cure Alliance work to unite donor voices in order to make their intentions heard, we continue finding  through our research that most people donate for the purpose of a cure.  That is why it is our mission to align this intention with the way that donor contributions are allocated.

If donors take a stand and express their intentions to support cure research, the foundations will listen. They are funded by our money, and therefore they need to listen to our wishes.  And if we can get the major foundations, such as the JDRF, the ADA, DRIF and Joslin to focus on Practical Cure research, scientists will have an incentive to pursue projects that can achieve this cure. They will be able to get funding for projects that may not yield a return on investment or be financial rewarding, but will contribute to and accelerate the development of a cure.

Our new membership campaign, where an Alliance member has promised to donate $25 on behalf of each new member that signs up is the perfect opportunity to join the fight for a cure. Uniting and standing together for a common cause is exactly what making an impact is all about.
