CONCOURS FOR THE CURE: Greater Tulsa philanthropist Mollie Williford displays a Phaeton Dual Cowl, an exotic automobile similar to the many that will be on display at this year’s Concours for the Cure to be held at Tulsa’s Southern Hills Country Club Sept. 30. Williford is this year’s honoree for her work in helping others. The mission of the American Diabetes Association is to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all those affected by diabetes.

The Concours for the Cure is a unique, upscale car show held at the Southern Hills Country Club. The event will be held Sunday, Sept. 30 in the Snug Harbor area of the club. Various patron levels include champagne, reserved seating, dinner, entertainment and world-class cars. Larger client entertainment areas are available to patrons upon request by contacting Joyce Jochim, event manager at the American Diabetes Association at jjochim@diabetes.org, or 918-492-3839, ext. 6041.

The Concours attracts between 600 to 700 local and international guests each year and is the only Concours in the world that benefits people with diabetes. Many of the beautiful cars exhibited have been shown at Pebble Beach and Amelia Island Concours.

The Concours is an outdoor event lasting from 4 to 7 p.m. Attire is Pebble Beach casual. Admission to the event includes valet parking, reserved seating, and a buffet dinner prepared by Chef Johnathon Moosmiller.

The honoree for 2012 will be Mollie Williford and the celebrity judge will be Indy 500 race car driver Charlie Kimball.
