Whenever we introducing something new to the Juvenile Diabetes Cure Alliance, or get a host of new people interested in joining the alliance, we like to restate who we are and welcome all those who want to join our mission.
Sometimes we get asked what distinguishes us from foundations such as the ADA or JDRF or how do we contribute to the search for a type 1 diabetes cure. The answer is that unlike the ADA or JDRF, we are not a medical research organization and we do not handle donations of any kind. Our purpose is to research the organizations themselves and present our members with reports on how they are using the millions of dollars they receive each year for a type 1 cure.
We are:
– a 501(c)(3) non profit
– not soliciting donations, handling donations or selling anything
– provide free analysis and research on the diabetes landscape in order to asses the obstacles and opportunities in the development of a Practical Cure
Our Sole Mission is:
– to direct donor contributions to the charitable organizations that are most effective at allocating funds to research opportunities that maximize chances of curing type 1 diabetes by 2025.
Another excellent recourse that talks about who we are and what we are about is our FAQ section, which you can find here: http://www.thejdca.org/faq
And of course, we are always eager and happy to answer any other questions you may have for us!
