I can’t believe it’s been 6 years since we got involved in our first WALK TO CURE DIABETES event to raise money for JDRF Canada (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) and in support of my oldest son.
Our first Walk To Cure Diabetes was only 5 months after Trevor then 8 years old was diagnosed with this awful disease called Type 1 diabetes or Juvenile diabetes boy, did our life changed on that day.
I remember the first walk was just a small family affair……my husband….my two boys and myself. Ever since then family and friends have been joining us not only by attending the walk and supporting Trevor, but also helping in raising money for JDRF.

Every year we all plan and look forward June and the Walk To Cure.
In May we hold annual fundrasing yard sale and bake sale. This year our friends are also collecting pledges in their coffee house.

Time For Snack Before Walk
Night before the big walk we all get together for a BBQ. We come up with a theme and decorate our shirts and hats to show our support while having fun……of course as every legit group we have our name…..this year we are….Trevor’s Angels with crooked hallos.
We used to be called TEAM SPAZZZ, but since Trevor is growing up and outgrowing his spazz stage in his life here comes hormones we figured it’s time to change the name. I think he was very pleased with that decision. I’ve been told it’s hard to try to impress teenage girls when your family and friends refer to you as the Spazzz point taken,son.

WALK TO CURE DIABETES takes place every spring/summer in cities across Canada and thousands and thousands families and friends get together to raise money to find the cure and to show support and love to all of their loved ones many of whom are sweet innocent children living with this awful disease…..hoping that ONE DAY……

So once again on June 12th my family and friends will be WALKING…..walking to raise money for JDRF…..walking to show love and support to my son…..walking and having fun together while trying to make a difference….one day at the time.
