The Springfield Cardinals and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation of the Ozarks are teaming up for the second annual Walk to Cure Diabetes from 8:30 a.m. to noon April 30, at Drury University.
“It’s great to be partnering again with the Ozarks JDRF and working together on such an important goal — a cure for type 1 diabetes,” said Matt Gifford, honorary walk chair.
At the Ozarks Walk, there will be entertainment, lunch and a vendor fair.
Onsite registration begins at 8:30 am. The entire walk will be about three miles long, starting and ending at the Drury Findlay Student Center.
“Insulin is not a cure, merely life support for the estimated 3 million Americans suffering from type-1 diabetes and its complications,” said Jennifer Cotner-Jones, walk coordinator. “Research is the only answer.”
