I am looking for information on a scientific study that proves the cause.
I am not looking for someones opinion.
I am not looking for information on the treatment of Diabetes.
I am not looking for the cure.
I am looking for the actual cause
I would like the url of the scientific study that proves your answer.

Type 2 Diabetes is caused by the combination of a deficiency of insulin, a hormone secreted by the pancreas, and a resistance to its actions. Type 2 is present in about 90 percent to 95 percent of people with diabetes, which results when their pancreas produce too little insulin to control glucose, or sugar, in the blood. Patients with type 1 Diabetes produce little or no insulin.
Unfortunately, it can take years before more than half of people with type 2 Diabetes first become aware they have the disease. Often, they first learn they have diabetes when they develop a major complication, such as kidney disease, heart attack or stroke.
